Nia · The woman behind NutritionistGuru

Before I helped women reclaim their stories, I had to return to my own.

I understood nutrition. I cared deeply for other people. But grief, work, family, and always being there for everyone else slowly pulled me away from myself.

The truth behind the title

“Knowing what to do did not make me immune to life.”

NutritionistGuru was not born from having a perfect journey. She was shaped by losing her way, recognizing herself again, and understanding what it means to need support while everyone assumes you already have the answers.

The original public chapter

This is where the internet first met my story.

The original video remains part of the record. It captures one chapter—but it was never the whole story.

01

Putting myself last

I was present for everyone—except myself.

My name is Nia, and many people know me as NutritionistGuru. I had spent years working with nutrition and helping other people build healthier, more balanced lives. Still, knowledge could not protect me from the realities of my own life.

I worked long hours, sometimes seven days a week. I cared for my family. I gave my energy to the people who needed me. Then I lost someone I loved, and grief changed the rhythm of everything. My eating habits changed. I stopped exercising. Little by little, my own wellbeing disappeared into the background.

02

The photograph

One ordinary moment made it impossible to keep looking away.

I was going through photographs on my computer when I stopped at images of myself. What unsettled me was not simply how I looked. It was the feeling that I no longer recognized the woman looking back at me.

I had become so accustomed to functioning for everyone else that I had not fully noticed how far away from myself I felt. That photograph did not shame me. It told me the truth: I needed to make room for my own care again.

“It was time to put myself back into my own life.”
03

Beginning again

Starting was important. Finding the right direction was harder.

In August 2012, I began exercising again and rebuilding healthier eating habits. I experienced progress, but I also reached a difficult stretch. Some days I showed up; other days I slipped back into old patterns. The inconsistency frustrated me because I knew how much this decision mattered.

I tried different approaches, including training that felt punishing rather than personal. What I needed was not another extreme routine. I needed guidance that respected my starting point, my goals, and the woman behind them.

04

The day I noticed Fire

I saw him help someone who was struggling—and I kept watching.

At the gym, I noticed a man step in to help a woman who was having difficulty with a machine. He did not dismiss her. He took the time to show her how to use it with greater understanding and purpose.

After that, I noticed him again and again. He was consistently willing to help people understand what they were doing. Eventually, I approached him. I told him about my journey, where I had struggled, and what I still wanted for myself. That man was Fire.

05

An exchange of knowledge

He understood training. I understood nutrition. We began by helping each other.

Fire designed fitness guidance around my needs and goals. I shared what I knew about nutrition to support what he wanted to build for himself. It was not a performance or a business pitch. It was two people recognizing that our different strengths belonged in the same conversation.

As we worked together, something became clear: he carried the same passion for fitness that I carried for nutrition. We also shared an instinct to meet people where they were instead of treating everyone as though they had the same body, history, or destination.

06

The program takes shape

Two personal experiences became one shared commitment.

That exchange grew into Fitness On Fire Online Training: personalized fitness direction, nutrition guidance, and ongoing human support brought together around the person—not just the goal.

Fire also taught me the importance of documentation. A photograph or video can preserve more than visible change. It can preserve a decision, a promise, and the identity of the person who chose to begin. That belief became part of the foundation of everything we document today.

07

Why I listen differently

When a woman tells me she has lost herself, I hear more than a request for a plan.

I know what it is like to care for other people while quietly slipping out of your own story. I know the gap between understanding what may help and feeling able to do it consistently. My experience is not identical to every woman’s experience, but it taught me to listen before assuming.

That is why the first step is a conversation. Before enrollment, before WhatsApp, and before a new chapter begins, I want to understand the woman who is reaching out and what brought her to this moment.

The chapters you have not seen

The original video was a beginning—not a conclusion.

There are parts of my journey the internet has never seen: the private decisions, the difficult seasons, the lessons, and the woman who continued developing behind the name NutritionistGuru.

This page will become the home of that living archive. As those chapters are ready to be shared, they will be documented here—honestly, thoughtfully, and without pretending that becoming ever has a finish line.

The story continues. — Nia
